Villány and Siklós have been a driving force in Hungarian winegrowing for the past 30 years: the 11 wine-producing villages have joined forces to protect the appellation, placing the emphasis on its quality. They created the first Hungarian wine route in 1996. While successfully cultivating wine tourism, the area also promotes the renowned thermal spas dotted about its territory.
