Located in the Presidio, this long, wide promenade lined with beaches and commanding a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge was used for landing planes from the military base. Today, the vast hangars are home to sports clubs, shops and the Military Intelligence Service Historic Learning. Crissy Field is also home to the Crissy Marsh, a habitat for 100 species of birds, and a Pet Cemetery, whose graves are decorated with sometimes amusing, sometimes moving epitaphs.
