This charming street is home to several boutiques selling arts and crafts (batik, basketwork, ceramics) and a few remarkable houses designed in Sino-Portuguese style. Built in the 19C, these properties combine Oriental and Western influence and bear witness to the intense trading links that had such an impact on the island from the 16C-19C. Their white façades are embellished with floral wood or stucco motifs, while the cornices and porches are decorated with multi-coloured tiles.
