Not only has it stood the test of time—since 1923 to be exact—but thanks to its first-rate comfort food and inviting vibe, it is routinely packed with diners jonesing for classics and signatures.The menu has something for everyone, including soups, chowders, and even a Dutch oven-pot roast or sloppy Joes with coleslaw. Of course, when it comes to grilling, this kitchen is king. Case in point: La Conga Delight, which reveals just the right dot of decadence via slices of buttery brioche stuffed with bacon, tomato, and cheese. Pies and cakes are crafted daily and worth the splurge, especially that dense and creamy chocolate layer cake with frosting to boot.
