This 40km/25mi road runs past some of the most beautiful temples of the Angkor archaeological park: Prasant Kravan with its massive brick bas-reliefs, the mountain-temple of Pre Rup, lovely at sunset; the little known Vishnu sanctuary of Banteay Samre, the charming Ta Som monastery, peculiar Neak Pean on its island and, of course, the vast Buddhist monastic complex of Preah Khan on the doorstep of Angkor Thom.
