What resembles a group of four small minarets soaring up into the sky is in reality all that remains of the door of a prestigious madrasa (school). The four towers are crowned with turquoise glazed bricks and stand in the middle of the old courtyard, replete with a pool. Go up to the terrace between the towers to enjoy the view over the city. Chor Minor is located in the heart of one of Bukhara's old districts that is just the ticket for a stroll, as it has retained all the charm of its maze of little streets and rammed-earth houses.
