Created in 1910 to commemorate the centenary of Colombia's independence, this park is a welcome oasis of green in the middle of the concrete and glass jungle that is the Centro Internacional. Among the pines, acacias and small pavilions designed by Italian architect Pietro Cantini, the planetarium inaugurated in 1969 is endowed with a vast cupola that is 25m in diameter. It houses the Space Museum.
